Making friends and building relationships on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc) is a lot like making friends and building relationships offline. In the offline (read: Real) world, friends don’t show up at your door randomly and want to support you forever. It takes time, effort and more time and effort. Do those same things in the online world.
